Advertisement are simple and attractive if it is aimed at children whereas ones aimed at adults can be complex .


Commercial

•Deals with products & services

•Aimed at consumers to persuade them to buy certain products or avail of some services

Can  be seen in magazines, pop ups, web banners, newspapers bill boards etc


Non-commercial


•Advertising of political parties, social  & charitable institutions to give out imp. Information or make people aware of the work done by them

•Political parties advertise through radios, pamphlets, handbills,during election time.





ADVERTISING AND DEMOCRACY

•Advertising costs huge money as a lot of manpower into conceiving the advertisement ,its execution , conducting research ,paying newspapers and TV channels etc.
•Companies have to make new advertisements and show the existing ones again and again to reinforce it in the consumer’s mind as there are multiple companies making the same product .
•This point to fact that only large companies can advertise whereas people who have small businesses cannot and have to sell their products in local markets which doesn’t not give them the price they deserve .
•Advertising creates a false impression that products that are packaged are good than those that are not .
•People tend to forget that packaging is not actually related to the product inside and good packaging does not ensure the good quality of the product.

•The products that are sold loose without branding suffer a setback in terms of sales and people who manufacture them have to shut down their businesses .
•Democracy emphasises equality of all the citizens of the country but advertising tends to uphold the affluent sections of society and makes the poor appear downtrodden .
•People who cannot afford branded products feel bad about themselves and their loved ones .
•Advertising only focuses on the lives of the rich and famous .
•It does not reflect anything about the actual issues plagiarising our society .
