*The  surroundings or  conditions in which we live is called our ENVIROMENT.
*Our environment encompasses all biotic or living things & abiotic or non- living thing  present in our surroundings
*All living & non-living things in an environment influence each other
*All these naturally occurring resources are essential for our survival on this planet
*Some of the natural resources are important for us to live whereas some others help in making our lives better
*We all are aware that our environment is changing rapidly
*Natural resources like air & water are renewable resources but pollution of these resources are making them harder to use
*Human activities such as ; increasing population, industrial growth, deforestation, mining, & use of modern technology

vWe cannot survive without air.
vAir contains about 78% of nitrogen, 21% of oxygen & the remaining 1% consists of  carbon dioxide [ 0.03 %] & other gases such as argon, krypton, helium, methane, ozone & water vapour
vAir also contains many minute particles such as dust, microbes & spores from plants that remain suspended in the air
vThe contamination of air due to the presence of unwanted or harmful substances that are introduced either naturally or by human activities is called by AIR POLLUTION.
