WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO FOOD & SHELTER...

 

What is right to food ??

i.The right to food, and its variations, is a human right protecting the right of people to feed themselves in dignity, implying that sufficient food is available, that people have the means to access it, and that it adequately meets the individual's dietary needs.

ii.The right to food protects the right of all human beings to be free from hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition.

What is RIGHT TO SHELTER ??

i.The right to housing is recognized in a number of international human rights instruments Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights recognises the right to housing as part of the right to an adequate standard of living. It states that:

ii.Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control

How is right to food violated ??

i.Violations include denial of access to humanitarian food aid or the deliberate starvation of civilians through the intentional destruction of food.

 

HOW IS RIGHT TO SHELTER VIOLATED ??

i.Forced evictions tend to be violent and disproportionately affect the poor, who often suffer further human rights violations as a result.

ii. Regardless of their cause, forced evictions may be considered a gross violation of human rights and a prima facie violation of the right to adequate housing.

Initiative I would take as a healer

1)I would like to open a non profit chain of  organization which helps people who are in need.

2)I would like to open a chain of vehicles named Annapurna vahini which will provide food, housing & clothing supplies to the needy.

3)There are many schemes started for the needy people by the indian government, I would just appeal the government to keep a check on those who are corrupted.

4)I WOULD LIKE TO START A WEBSITE THROUGH WHICH PEOPLE CAN DONATE FOR THE NEEDY, FROM ANYWHERE, ANYTIME.
