Due to the good ratings of the re-run of the series on Star Plus during coronavirus lockdown in India, in late August 2020, the makers decided and announced making a new season of the series, after the rap by Yashraj Mukhate released on 21 August 2020 went viral. [46] Soon, the first promo of Season 2 released on 31 August 2020 featuring Devoleena Bhattacharjee as Gopi Bahu.[47] The series is expected to premiere in October 2020

  • Giaa Manek as Gopi Modi: Ahem's former wife; Jaggi's wife; an innocent and illiterate lady initially, who works hard and becomes literate (2010–2012)[14]
  • Rucha Hasabnis as Rashi Modi: Urmila's daughter; Gopi's maternal cousin; Jigar's first wife; Sahir and Samar's mother; Initially a fun, and positive woman but always plots with her mother Urmila to cause problems for Gopi and Kokila. Later, she realises her mistakes and dies while saving Gopi from getting hit (2010–2014) (Dead) [17]
  • Rupal Patel as Kokila Modi: Parag's wife; Ahem and Kinjal's mother; The strict and strong-minded matriarch of the Modi family who mentors Gopi after her marriage (2010–2017)[18]
  • Mohammad Nazim as Ahem Modi: Kokila and Parag's son; Gopi's former husband. A dedicated businessman, who initially detested Gopi due to her illiteracy, but later accepts her. He dies in a car accident (2010–2016) (Dead)
    • Nazim also played Jaggi Modi: Parag's illegitimate son who marries Gopi after Ahem's death (2016–2017).[19]
  • Vishal Singh as Jigar Modi: Hetal and Chirag's son, Rashi and Paridhi's husband. He marries Paridhi after Rashi's death (2010–2016)[20]
  • Vandana Vithlani as Urmila Shah: Rashi's mother. Initially a cunning women who detests Gopi and hatches various plots with Rashi. Later, she accepts Gopi (2010–2017)
  • Tanya Sharma as Meera Modi: Gopi and Ahem's daughter, Dharam's second wife (2015–2017)[21]
  • Sonam Lamba as Vidya Modi: Antara's daughter. She was swapped by Antara at her birth with Ramakant. Gopi and Ahem's foster daughter (2015–2017)

    It aired in Sri Lanka dubbed into Sinhala as Mage Sanda Obai on Swarnavahini.[60] In Indonesia, it began airing on ANTV from 26 September 2016 under the title Gopi but was airing from Monday to Friday at 3:00 pm (Indonesia Western Time).[61] It also aired in Pakistan on Urdu1

    Dubbed version and remakes

    Saath Nibhaana Saathiya has spawned several different language remakes including Pudhcha Paaul (Marathi), Deivam Thandha Veedu (Tamil), Chandanamazha (Malayalam), Amritavarshini (Kannada) and Bodhuboron (Bengali). It was dubbed into Telugu as Kodala Kodala Koduku Pellamaa on Star MAA. All the versions including the dubbed one became successful ones being one of the most watched TV programmes in their respective regions, crossing 1000+ episodes except Tamil version with 992 episodes.

    Initially starting with low viewership in May 2010, it increased gradually and also became one of the top rated Hindi GEC at that time. As in November 2010, it occupied the top position with 5.3
