EFFECTS OF BRANDS ON SOCIAL VALUES
•Brands have become a part of our
life.
•Let us take an example of
advertisement of soap that shows a
father-child pair enjoying their bath with it . This may portray that if
children want to have fun while bathing , we must use that brand of soap .
•Parents want to provide the best
for the child and feel that buying that soap is a measure of how much they love
their child.
•On the other hand , people who
can afford the soap feel that they are not giving best product and care to
child .
•Let take another example of branded
and loose rice .Although there is not
much difference in the rice , people might feel that they are not consuming the
best rice .
•Companies get filmstars and sportsmen to endorse
products which increase its sale as people believe that the filmstars will endorse products that are
good.
EFFECTS
OF BRANDS ON SOCIAL VALUES
•Advertisement often mislead people as
they give out partial information of the product . For example a cosmetic product might say it is not tested on
animals but it does not feel necessary
to mention its expiry date .
•Advertisements depict lifestyles
of the rich and famous .
•Therefore it is important to
understand the impact of advertising , and not to waste our hard earned money .
•Although advertisements today are
very innovative and interesting
•Parents love their children and give
best to them : and so companies target all ads towards children .
•They are aware that if a child
appreciates the product ,most parents will buy it for them irrespective of cost
.
•One major effect of advertising is buying new and branded products is the
true measure of happiness .
MAKING
AN ADVERTISEMENT
•After the company decides the product to be advertised , they hire an
advertising agency to make an advertisement .
•The agency first creates a
consumer profile that is it identifies the people who would be using this
product.
•Then it conducts a survey and
organises to gather more information about product .
•A campaign is then launched that
would appeal the target consumers .
•The roughs of the advertisement
are then showed to client and if approved are then tested on a section of
target audience.
•If the audience likes the product
then the advertisement is finalised and released . The product is launched in
the market.
